Austin: Full Time PA's Needed for Urgent Care

MedSpring, the new leader in Urgent Care in Austin, is looking for PA's for fulltime and parttime urgent care work. Positions in both Cedar Park/Round Rock and in Central/South Austin! Schedule will center around weekend coverage with 12-hour shifts spread between Friday-Saturday-Sunday-Monday. At least 2 weekends per month are required, more are ideal! Ideal candidate will be proficient in diagnosing and treating illnesses, injuries and infections under the supervision of the physician on duty. Proficiency in procedures such as suturing, wound packing, I&D, nail removal, foreign body removal, splinting and a current DPS license are strongly preferred.

We are seeking both FT and PT Physician Assistants in Austin to join our clinical team at this time. Our PA candidates should be strong in treating acute conditions as well as procedures such as I&D, suturing, toenail removal, splinting, foreign body removal, etc. This position will start with weekend coverage and expand to 7 days a week over the next 1-2 years.
Reporting to the Area Medical Director, the PA is a key member of MedSpring’s center team. The individual will work closely with the Medical Director and Center staff providing direct patient care to ensure metrics are achieved within the geographic market they support.
Primary responsibilities include providing excellent, evidence-based care to patients while embodying MedSpring’s ideals of patient satisfaction and customer service.

Key duties and responsibilities:
1. Diagnose and treat an array of pediatric and adult illnesses and injuries
2. Order and interpret indicated diagnostic testing based upon evidence-based medicine (EBM) and clinical practice guidelines (CPG)
3. Perform required procedures, including suturing and splinting
4. Utilize an electronic medical record (EMR)
5. Attend and participate in periodic staff meetings
6. Become an active and energetic participant in this growing urgent care company

Education, training, experience:
1-2 years clinical experience in a walk-in clinic, urgent care or emergency department is highly preferred.
Certifications & Education:
Certification as a PA-C
Active Texas Medical License
BLS or ACLS
Active DEA and DPS
